Naming ceremonies are not just for newborns – they’re to welcome the birth or adoption of a child of any age. They can be as intimate or as grand as you want and can take place anywhere – even the family home. I make the ceremony all about you as a family and include anything you want your guests to celebrate: the story of their birth or arrival, the reason for their name, your hopes and wishes for their future, and the promises you make them within your family. Including guideparents (and their promises), symbols, and rituals (e.g. the planting of a tree or flower) makes it extra special.
